Welcome

PRESS RELEASE

It is with a heavy heart we need to let you all know that with immediate effect we will no longer have an office for carers and their families to come and visit us. The world is currently under a huge financial crisis and we have also become a victim of this. Grants have almost dried up meaning it has become impossible to keep our office base open.

Fear not though, as we are going back to basics – we are not disappearing, we will just not have a permanent base.

What are our plans?

  • We plan to hold coffee mornings with the opportunities to come and find out all the information you need or try a craft whilst you have a cuppa.
  • There will still be our form completion assistance, advocacy and one-to-one support services where we will meet with you in a mutual place or, if you are unable to leave your home, we will come to you.
  • We will hold regular events, please keep an eye on our social media accounts as well as our website www.thedorsetcarershub.org.

For any queries please contact us at support@thedorsetcarershub.org or call 01305 602828

Remember we will always be dedicated to making sure no carer feels alone!

Who we are

Here at Dorset Carers Hub, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all carers. Our decision making process is informed by comprehensive empirical studies . We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits.

As you can see from the figures below, unpaid carers provide vital work, saving the economy billions of pounds each year (they save almost the same figure that it would cost to fund another NHS. Just imagine if carers suddenly stopped being able to look after their loved ones and friends? The NHS alone would not be able to cope, not to mention social care.

This is why we provide all the services that we do, to help prevent carer burnout.

Please donate to help us to continue helping carers and their families.

What we do?

Advice, Advocacy & Signposting

Our aim is to provide all carers with the advice and information they may need, when they need it.

We are trained to support you in your benefit applications and help with issues around housing, health and social care.

We have leaflets with information from other supportive organisations in our Hub base for you to take away and read at your leisure.

If we do not know something then we will signpost you to someone who does.

Peer to Peer Support

At Dorset Carers Hub, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts making sure that no carer feels alone.

This is by no means an easy feat, but through our rich experience of caring, our in Hub support volunteers and carer community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area.

We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our charity runs solely on volunteers, without them we would not be able to provide any of the important services that we do.

Volunteer Opportunities are something that we take very seriously, and our team works hard each and every day to make a positive impact.
